this vs. that

i like the pgrsd65cs the most from what i've heard, but i got into the door panel on my truck and realized 6.5's would look hella lame. so i am trying to find some 5x7's or some 8x6's so my interior will still look nice... wish i had the skill to make some 6.5's look nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Whoops, my mistake... the pics did not load on the links you gave me and I assumed they were 6.5", that's the popular size.

Try these:

These are the some of the best right now, short of a 5X7 component set... foamed poly midbass cone, same technology as Polk SR series comps for the best combination of midbass and detail. And I know on some of PPi's higher end speakers, they have designed them to have a flatter response, unlike most other coaxes, despite the tweeter being in front of the mid... it's good bet that has trickled down to these models.... Nice price too.

Never mind what I wrote before, LOL... I did not realize you were looking at comps to begin with, the onlinecarstereo pics aren't loading for me... out of your first two choices, the Alpine's are a little better.

Might want to see what you could get the comps listed in my sig for, if you could still find them (mine are sold)... they are being discontinued, maybe you could find a deal.

sounds good, how were the rf's anyway?
- best 6X8 comps under $300 I've heard... very detailed with the metal cones, decent midbass.

There is nothing wrong with 6X8" comps, despite what some people may tell you... only down side is that there are not nearly as many 6X8 comps on the market to choose from as there are 6.5" comps, hence, not as many good deals to be found, you know what I mean?

But the Fosgates in my sig will hang with the better 6.5" comps in the same price range ($250 or less).

e looked in ebay and couldn't find em' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif am on a budget, but could do 250 prolly. i auditioned the alpines and liked em ok. i just want something better than the jensens the car came with. later i'll do kick pods and all that good stuff, then i can go 6.5

nice, think i might try em... midbass pretty good on em? i mostly listen to rap and electronic...

- Yes, they have a cast aluminum basket and more excursion than typical steel frame mids. The metal cones will keep up with electronic music quite well. They are worth the extra money, highly recommended.
