We could give away the sub right now, need to get a few more in order to be able to let people have their choice though.

Question for everyone though:

What do you think about opening the raffle up to other forums, not this month obviously, but in the future have it open to anyone and drop the price of a ticket to $2. Then we could probably give away bigger prizes, I would assume. I've been thinking though and it may be something to try just for the hell of it and see how it goes.

I dont know about the other forums thing, I dont know if they would be comfortable sending money to someone they dont know, unless you are known on other forums. Either way, this is a great idea, and should be continued

What do you think about trying it out on the other forums though, even though I don't frequent much they can look me up here....and besides, if it doesn't work no harm done right? Or is it the idea of letting others in that you don't like?

Never really had anything I've done spread around, guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Also, I'm working on redesigning the site, the current one came from a template and I want it to really be ours. Here is what I have going so far, obviously not done (there's no information), but let me know what you think about the layout of it.

EDIT: I realize in the corner it says "caraudioraffle.com" that's because I am contemplating purchasing the domain name so that the site can be it's own.

you seriously need to lower the filesize of them pictures.

that top banner is - 78.49 KB (80373 bytes)... no signle image should be over 20kb. you need to cut it into 4 seperate images, and optimize them for web.

if you are using photoshop [file] -> [save for web] - a window will pop up with tons of shit and your graphic in the middle. ignore it all, there is a tiny circle button with a triangle in the upper righthand corner next to the save buttons.

hit that button, and do [optimize for file size] and a dialouge box will pop up and ask you some stuf.. you want to check [auto select GIF\JPEG] and put in like 15kb in the [desired file size] box.

it will force the image down to that filesize (make sure its at 72dpi when you make the image to beginwith) and keep it at the same quality. make sure you break up the top image to four seperate ones, then do the save for web to each one seperatly, and use the optimized images for the site.

the buttons should be able to be under 7kb. and the bottom bar should be able to be 5~10kb.

What does everyone think of the layout of it though for now?

Do you guys really want to open the forums up to a bunch of one time posters who think they can win super lotto. No matter if it is opened to other forums or not there should be a rule like only those with a post count over.....100 posts for example can partake. That way you know that the person has at least spend a little time in the forum and contibuted something other than a name and $3 a ticket.
