From experience I recommend you get something a little less intense being your first tat.....get a feel for the pain and do something like that....

i actually think cross tattoos can't be overdone, mainly because their one of the few tat's that can truly have some meaning for people. yea tribal is overdone, but shit happens people can get what they want..

It's not that bad at all. Some areas can/will hurt more than others, but it's really not too bad. It's mainly all in your head. When I got my first one, the only thing I was nervous about was flinching or moving and the artist messing it up. It feels more like scratching sunburn. It can get a little irritated, but it's not going to kill you.
