Mac 11s 'pistol' or 'carbine'

I Found a Mac 11 I can afford, but I am not 100% sure if they are in the pistol category, or the smg/assault rifle/carbine category.

handgun = no stock, no foreward hand grip, generally a small barrel.. like under 5 "

rifle / smg / carbine ..

minimum 16 " barrel

generally a stock .. and can have forward hand grip
