This is what happens when you exceed the interior pressure rating of a vehicle...

i want to know how did he get enough volume from 1 acetylene tank to fill the cab then pressurize it, hell ten tanks couldnt pressurize the cab to the point of a rupture that big. and id stand to believe that the pressure would find a way out of the vehicle before even building up a pressure over 80lbs. no car is100% sealed otherwise the windshield defrost would pressurize the cab.
the gas ignited. It wasn't just pressure building up from the tank releasing gas.

 
Having read it, it seems that the pressure would have been released immediately, he had to open the drivers door to get in, over pressurization had to have simply been from the combustion of the gas.

Regardless, that is one lucky mahf'k, shame seein it happen to an FJ, i'm a toyota guy at heart, and own the FJ's pickup truck brother
