actuallly yes it is possible for the suspension to begin to sag.

if you can put it on its side i would do that atleast.

if this is true then what do they do to subs that sit in stores or warehouses? seriously. if this were an issue all subs would be made to order and have special instructions on how to store them.

seems like if there is any truth to this statement that maybe it happens to 1 in every 1,000,000,000,000 subs.

if it is brand new then it is very unlikely to happen.;

but if it is a used sub with a broken in suspension in can happen.

actually it was a serious question. the reason why i asked was because when i started in car audio a guy told me that subs are like batteries and they cross polarities if you put them on the floor. it really was an honest question.

First - On a Broken in suspension subs will most likely sag if it is a softer suspension. Ive seen mostly L7, L5's do it, older fosgates will also do it. Most people here with super stiff SPL suspensions should never see this.

Second - Ive never heard nor had the crossed polarities thing happen so i wouldnt worry about it.

Third - The battery thing no longer applies to batteries today. Setting batteries on concrete and them losing their charge and all mattered way back when batteries had a rubber type casing. With the casings used today it should never happen.

If I leave my SPL van sitting in the snow for 6 months and then bring it to spring break it will of turned into a drag racing car and blast 175dbs out of the subs being powered by an apple.
