This dude for real ?

Gotta give him props for the laptop > FM transmitter > radio hookup. That's some Macguyver **** right there.
Yeah the brands are low to **** tier, but not everyone has the money for good stuff. The only thing I really take issue with is the wiring. A rat's nest of wires in the back, some blinking thing lurking under the back seat, and ffs... that severed power wire at the door. I just hope that thing is fused under the hood for when it inevitably shorts.

Edit: Jesus, I take that back. The cap just sitting in the pocket on the back of the passenger seat and the ground - my god, the ground! Grounds it to a screw that holds the plastic trim piece in place, on top of the plastic.

He says that he don't like to drill holes for power wire through the firewall. So......is that wire running from the hood between the fender ?

I don't care what people run brand wise. Just the wiring and the back seat pocket holding the cap lol.

Stop hatin guys we all started somewhere.
I agree Rollin...Alot of guys on here act like they just started out with a vast supply of knowledge in their heads, and their first subs were IA Wardens.
I started off with crap equipment, but my wiring was a bit better and more safety was put in place with research.

Till now my wiring is almost a rats nest due to not making a clean install.

Heat causes the glue to burn off making it useless.
If the wire is getting that hot, it's too small. I really doubt his little boss amp is making that scoche 4/6gauge get hot but even if it is, heat will make the duct tape adhesive goopy and the worst that could happen is it slides away from the bare wire and shorts again and the same thing can happen with electrical tape, it gets goopy when it's hot too.

Voltage running at 11.8 even with boss means 90%+ odds of clipping causing excessive heat in the wire whether it is 4/0 or 4 gauge.

If it becomes goopy and comes off a bit then it can easily touch metal and like you said short.

We all started out somewhere. True, but not like this lol. Feel free to check out his other video with a aftermarket headunit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
