I just got an e-mail from H-O-Alternators. They have a HO 170 amp alt for my Dodge Neon and the price is $699. Is that a price price? It's a bolt-on replacement.
Oh yeah, and plus it's alot cheaper to get that one then from buying it here. The one they want here is $1600 for only a 100 amp alt and thats from the Dodge Dealership here. And this isn't a HO alt either.
Is HOAlts just an expensive company. I am looking to upgrade as well and for my 325i I was told 699 and was also told 699 for a maxima. Then I call another shop and they tell me $375. One was a 220 and the other is a 200. Is there reason to pay almost double for 10% more current? Is one going to last longer are have much better performance?
I don't know but i'm not going to pay $699 for a 170 amp alt when I can just get a 150 amp alt for $239. And defintaly WILL NOT pay $1600 for a 100 amp alt here.
