Anyone on in this thread that says it's a good idea to smoke is ****ing retarded. That is second to being extremely immature, having the nerve to try and convince someone to smoke. I used to smoke. From about age 15 to 22 regularly (pack a day at least). Makes you feel cool and grown up at first but then it gets to be a pain. First, if you live somewhere cold you find yourself punishing yourself by going outside to smoke because you can't convince yourself it's not worth it. You'll freeze your *** off numerous times a day because you can't stop. When it's hot, not as bad, but if you live in Death Valley adn you have to smoke outside then same thing. Second, people who smoke stink. I never realized it while I was smoking and after a couple weeks of quitting I started to smell it. It was awful. Third, kissing a smoker when you don't smoke is disgusting. I'd rather kiss a chick that dipped. If your girlfriend doesn't smoke, consider her feelings. Fourth, the price of a pack of smokes is rediculous. And there isn't a "ill just buy them when I can afford them" attitude. Once you get hooked, and that doesn't take long, you will buy less groceries to afford cigarettes. You'll buy smoke before you buy food, gas, and pay bills just so you know you will have your cigarettes. If all else fails at least you have those trusty cigarettes (sarcasm). Fifth, the health hazards. Your blood pressure goes up, you increase the risk of heart disease, emphasema, risk of cancer, risk of stroke, risk of heart attack, lower lung capacity (short of breath), you hack up phlem all the time, I've even coughed up blood. That should be enough to knock some sense into you. If that doesn't do it remember this. If you do start and it takes you years to learn what i just typed, you will not be able to quit as easilly as you think you will. EVERYONE thinks they can quit when they want to. But they can't.
