Thinking about a carputer

i have a samsung n150 laying around with a cracked LCD. i was thinking about building a carputer around it. but what should i do about getting the sound to the amps? should i get a line driver/crossover or hide a HU away in the glovebox or something of that nature?

yeah , i just found it with google. I guess later on when my internet isnt being so slow i will do a little research. i know what i want to do will work but i'm just scared about dirty sound and not having any type of control over the subs. but maybe i can look into a inline volume for the sub amp.

Easiest way to do this is with a tablet PC hooked up to an external USB soundcard then run line drivers from it.

I've thought about carputers for a long time but I just don't know how well they work when it's 110 or -10 degrees out.

Waste of time and money, but that's just my opinion. I doubt you'll get much helpful information for that on this site. I'd google carputer on mp3.com & 12volt.com, they're into this kinda stuff.

i was thinking about getting a eq with a line driver built in. do all the tweaking there and use the onscreen volume for the rest.

the hfeq is a pretty nice unit

as far as carputers... why? most any car stereo can have a huge HDD attached these days... a $50 Hdd is better IMO...plug n play basically lol

a carputer can cost quite alot...

i just wanted something different , i have the computer already. Basically just need screens and some sort of external processor unit. I'm downloading a few of the different software offerings. hopefully they have flac support. thats my big turnoff with using a HDD on a deck. NO FLAC SUPPORT ANYWHERE.

ahh I see

definately check mp3car.com site then they do alot of carputers..

the big issue is you need a decent digital sound card to run the RCA out of. 1 that has sub adjustments ect...
