For the last 2 months my right tweeter has been cutting in and out (VC100's), and I haven't changed a thing in my wiring. I'm running a two way active set-up with a 9855 as the processing, an old school Kenwood for my mids, and an old school Autotek for my tweeters.

My buddy's VC100's do the same thing, but he has a 9835.

So today I pull in my driveway, and EVERYTHING cuts out except the left side tweeter, then makes a crackling/scratching noise and cuts in and out...today was the first time it did that...

Any ideas?

I checked my power wire at the battery, and it has a solid connection.

Oh, after everything cut out, the head unit completely shut off and wouldn't turn back on.

does everything share a common ground point? if so, change it to a new spot and see if that fixes it.

I have a distro block, so the amps have the same ground, which is where I've had my ground for well over a year now...

i wouldn't think the HU would cause that. since the one tweeter was on and nothing else.

i'm thinking a pinched, shaved, kinked, grounding out wire. could be anywhere between amp and speaker

x2 on the RCA's. Could also be the RCA Inputs. I've known a few to break off the board. If it was vibrating or moving it could create intermittent signal.

That's what I figured. But why did all my shit cut out today, except the left tweeter, and why won't my head unit turn back on??

unhook everything and try and power the HU. i didn't catch that part...

sounds like something grounded out, maybe causing other shit to die....
