Think this will work?

So, guess im never satisfied. 2 Sa-8s sound GREAT but, i want louder. The problem is space. F150's (Truck) are not known for under seat space ( what truck is?).So, im thinking a center console box. Either firing down or one forward and one backwards ( like the pics.) Thinking either two 10's or 12's. 12's would fit but be TIGHT. Im leaning towards 10's if 12's are too tight. Gonna measure tomorrow. So, what do yall think? Pros and Cons. This will be my first attempt at a aesthetically pleasing look.

why not do a seat lift ?
Thought about that. Buying one is stupid because their $140 for a piece of metal. I could build one. Just worried in a wreck what would happen. I could maybe raise it 1-1 1/2in. Still would only have maybe 6 or 6.5in of mounting depth. Under doesnt seem possible for 10's or 12's unless shallow.

yes do it urself...weld it well and raise it 3" like most people works fine...ive seen plenty done with 10s and various diff subs ..not shallow mounts

Im worried that 3in would be too high. Cant weld but 3in would make peoples head hit the roof. Especially my friends who push 6'2''-6'3''. Wouldnt it look unsightly? The biggest problem is the angled mount. It would be trick to fab something up for that. Im really liking the center console idea if its possible.

ive seen lots of chevy and dodge seat lifts so look into it ...but a center console with a pair of 10s would work just fine

dbl post

Just did a seat lift in an F-150, 2000 extended cab. Raised the rear a little under 3. Took no time at all. He put 2 12's in a custom bk. we made as well.

Any questions feel free to pm, I was there the while build and had my hands mostly in the enclosure part of the build but I know how to raise the seats.

Easy stuff, headroom was not too bad afterwards.

Yea, I could do it if it wasnt for this side mount ( in the red circle). All the other pieces would be straight up with a shim but this poses a problem. And not sure where id get long bolts.

It's all possible and it's all been done before. Bolts, even the grade 8 hardened seat bolts can be bought At most hardware stores. All diff lengths and sizes as well. This guy made a bracket however.

Well, having no welder im not sure how. I know how i would with a welder but dont have one. I guess i could use some tube steel or something like that as a spacer on every other part expect the out side. Wouldnt a ported underseat box be hard to port? Or at least really long? Still not sure how that would look. A pic of a 2009-2013 with it installed would be great...if I could find one.

EDIT: IF i did a center console. Down fire or one forward and one backwards? I think i could fit 12's now that i have had looked closer. It would be easier to port. It seems like id have about 2 cubes to play with ( give or take)

Well, got the console out and could easily fix two 12's...If their wasnt a massive steel mounting thing. It looks like it could come out but i think it protects this little box. So, if i did do it, it would have to be up firing, sit really high and fire down, or one forward and one backwards. Any input?

How many cubes do you figure you're going to have to work with? It seems small for two properly done 12s; ported, at least.

I'm planning a system for my Ram 1500. I never thought about a center console box. I like that idea. I'll have to look into it more. I was going to go with something from Fox Acoustics for under my rear seat but at least I have another option now.
