Think this is possible?

sue me, its a ford.
I drive an intrigue. The motor has been through hell. The year model before my car was an aurora and had the northstar v8 and also FWD. Im wanting to buy a wrecked aurora and pull the motor and drop it in my intrigue. Is it possible? Anybody know of anyone doing this?

Unless money isn't an option, you'd be better off getting a new 3.5 to fit in there, no mounts to make or custom shafts to machine. Are you just trying to get the Northstar in for a performance factor? You could turbo it, doubt there's any superchargers available since it wasn't a traditional 90* V6 like the 3.8. If you're up for a bit of work you could try the Aurora engine, especially if they share the same transmission. Don't know the ***** used, sorry, but most GM V6s share a ***** bolt pattern.

I think the aurora used the 4t65 mine used the 4t60e i belive. I just dont like the sound of the v6, Ive got exhuast and cams. id rather hear a v8 and its my project car.

The 4t65 should fit then, but I'd recommend using the 4t65-HD used on GTPs and SSEIs. You'll need to get a reflashed computer, but I don't know of W-Body computer systems, sorry.

Checking online, found a GM site that said the L47 (Aurora) used a 4t80.

Try the W-Body forums http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php

Personally I have seen discussion that the Aurora V8 was not worth it, as there was little to no aftermarket IIRC.
