also.what do you guys think would be a safe setup for my 88 civic hatch,1 18" btl 2000-3000 watts.i was thinkin a 200ish amp alt,big three and like two bats in the back.

i ran it today with just one battery in the back and it KILLED my cars little 60 amp alt..not a good idea

Do you already have the big 3 done? I've got a stock 80amp, big 3, and 2 batts and don't have any problems running 2k.

If you do everything you said tho, that would be perfect for now and if you ever wanted to go bigger in the future.

I wouldn't man, it says remanufactured, which means it's probably a rewound stock alt...It's probably not going to put out rated and will probably do worse than your stock at idle. Go with a reputable company. You'll pay more but you'll save yourself some headaches in the long run. I personally recommend DC Power, the guy that runs it's name is Rob and he's really cool.

no i didnt really think big 3 would make THAT much of a difference.

how much 1/0 would you say i would need for it? isnt it ground from alt,power to alt from batt,then what else?

I'm not a big 3 expert, but I've done 2/3 so far and not upgraded my batt or alt, and I would definitely recommend it, it has decreased my dimming by a good bit. Also - the big 3 is engine block to chassis ground, batt neg to chassis ground, and alt pos to batt pos, not what you had originally thought.
