Thermal formed surrounds

For years our company had gone through china as most companies do for surrounds, we then outsourced to other "american" based companies and problems persisted. Surrounds where never the right roll size, they were uneven in thickness from one side to the other, they had weak points at the point it connects to the basket. Well months ago we developed our own homemade thermal former. Now we are in full swing of production and after all the work I just wanted to show what the subs are capable of. No more dimpling from high excursion. No more coil wobble from uneven material. Everything is made by hand in Green Bay, WI. Let me know what you guys think. Keep in mind this is a HT driver, so no 4" p2p like some but still for what it is, its a great example of what taking the time to do things right leads to.



PS ignore the scratching our pod for sound adjustments has an issue when volume goes up and down.

Yes it is nice to see USA made products...But does it cost more? These days cost is everything.... Times are hard but we're still not willing to give up our toys. But I love the fact that you have developed your own method to making surrounds. by hand building the thermal former outselves it has made costs almost no differnt. Prices on the subwoofers have not changed at all. I know where your coming from as people outsource to save money but in the longrun it saves way more money going this option.

If you can make these yourself and keep the cost pretty close to the outsourced alternative, and provide equal or better quality...you're really on to something!

if you were closer you'd be more then able to try one out before purchasing, unfortunately shipping ends up being a hefty amount, along with trust issues, not everyone out there is an honest person, sadly very few are now adays. What ***** even more is 90% of our business is overseas so it really ***** for those guys.

I can send you a sample of a surround if that would help lol?

Oh I see... but maybe you could some how get these into a car audio related business. Maybe get with a company that would use your surrounds over an overseas alternative. Ya never know... But it really sounds like you're on to something good if you can get it out there. Good luck to you!

Its cool I wasnt implying that you were, I was just stating the company is irrelevant in this matter. I may use a few surrounds for car audio subwoofers to test out with some thicker material but its just not about the company, its about old fashion built in America quality.
