alright I purchased a system a few years ago and had it installed I had a memphis 500d and 2 kicker 10s 2 ohm dual voice coil and from what i understand is that with a 2ohm dvc sub you cannot achieve a 2ohm load out of one sub which is how this installer had it hooked up I guess what im trying to figure out here is i know the amp is 1ohm stable the installer had each sub wired to itself and from what i saw on my search here it shows a 4 ohm load going to the amp and from there it briges down to 2 ohm so im not even getting the full amount of power out of this settup does this sound right?????//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif i have a hard time explaining myself when im pissed:furious:if you need more info just ask ill find it

If I understand corerctly your subs were wired in series / parallel. Which would achieve a 2 ohm load. series / parallel meaning that the coils on the subs are wired in series and then the 2 subs are wired parallel. Unfortunately you cannot wire these subs down to one ohm. It would wire done to .5 ohm. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

What are the specs on the 500d and what kind of kicker subs are they?

the subs are the older cvr's their round and 2 ohm dvc and both of them are in great shape im confused on the terms parallel and series the subs are not wired together the voice coils are wired to share a +and - the amp is like a two channel 2 sets + and - and shows on the amp 2 ohm min. going in and from what i can remember it briges itself in the wiring inside the amp to achieve 1 ohm does this make sense i might be able to find the manual i bought this stuff 5 or 6 years ago

x2 look at that site, your going to want to look at option 2 for a 2 ohm load, get the specs on your amp and post them on there and someone can tell you, after you have your speakers wired like that, how to wire them to the amp, so that the amp is feeding them the proper rms at the proper ohms...

alright the voice coils are wired is series so the subs show a 4 ohm setup understand that the subs are wired seperate and the amp being mono is set up to wire 2 subs and it shows on the amp that going in 2ohm is minimum inside the lines run parallel to take it down to 1 ohm does this make sense i guess when i get my system back up i can just run 1 vc from each sub and see if it is capable this way:confused:
