The usual "what to get" question.

Ok, I have noticed this is the most common question around all these car audio forums, but I want to get a new subwoofer for my 91 stealth. I want a single 12" sub for around $130. I will be making my own box, and this will be powered by a Kenwood KAC-9103D(I know, not the best, it is all I have though.) I want it to get VERY loud. I listen to all rap/hip-hop and love loud bass. I have never really heard any "high-end" systems, so all I have to compare to is a 12" Fusion Bass Pack that my buddy has. So, if you can tell me how the recommended sub would sound in comparison to that would be great. I have looked at a few subs and these are the best I can find on my own: RE SE 12", 12" Type R, 12" CVX, Shiva X(slightly out of price range though.) Thanks for any input you guys can give me.

Cliff Notes: Have KAC-9103D with ~500Wrms@4ohms and ~900Wrms@2/1 ohm. Need SPL sub for

the alpine type r is your best bet. It can handle 1000 rms all day if your gains are set correctly.
The amp can't push that much. It probably only puts out about 700Wrms @2ohms if that of clean power. I just wanna be able to bang harder than my friend. You know, the alpha-male sorta thing

i agree, if you just want boom go with the type R. however if you like VERY loud bass cars your VERY far off with just one lower level 12". but ya, the type r will make you happy if you like that fusion.

edit: haha, a link to an emoticon. type r doesnt NEED 1000w. it CAN take 1000k. itll be fine with the 500-700.

type r is a beast and it can take a beating, i would get it because it will last
This is what I have heard from just about anyone I asked. The main one I was wondering about was the RE SE. I have heard a lot of things about this sub also and was wondering how it compared to the Type R?

endofdays89 we all know you make love to type Rs all day.
dude shut up, i just happen to have them. When someone asks for a loud budget sub, it's hard to point them in a different direction. I know from experience they can take a beating and i think they are great subs.

I will be getting new ones though soon don't worry, then i can make love to them:rolleyes:
