The United States of America is the greatest country in the world

no i dont, thats the point im making here. people are joining because they see an easy way to get college paid for and get a salary. then they ***** and moan when they get deployed to iraq and risk their lives when in reality thats what they are there for in the first place.
im sorry im not part of this new culture you seem to be where nothing is ever your own fault and there is always someone else to blame. people need to be accountable for their own actions. its a shame that 19 yr old billy from down the street got blown up by a roadside bomb but in the end its little billys fault for enlisting in the first place. he knew he was risking his life. its not the militarys fault. they didnt force him to enlist.
actually, let me correct this statement. the 5 friends of mine from various branches of the military that have gone to iraq and afghanistan are all actually proud of what they did over there and none of them have complained. its the people around them or people that have nothing to do with the military doing the *****ing.

I really dont know how you extrapolated all that from what I said. I merely stated people enlist in the military for reasons other than to serve the political agenda of the day, and you turn that into Im part of a culture where individual responsibility is dead. Hmmm.

What country is better? How did you arrive at that conclusion? And why aren't you living there? It would seem pretty dumb to live in a place that you didn't consider the best. I live in TN because I think it best meets my requirements.
Well, by many measures, the US is beat by many of the Nordic/Scandinavian countries. You can look at corruption indexes, crime rates, income equality (if you consider that important), the business climate, peace indexes, etc.

well, you stated in your own words that it was the militarys fault because they entice people to join with schooling.... i didnt make that up. i was merely using the "billy dying" situation as an example to illustrate that its horrible he died but he could of prevented it had he not enlisted in the first place. especially if he just enlisted for reasons that were originally stated, to pay for school and help family.

if you recall the original discussion that you butted in on was me saying the soldiers chose to go to war that they werent forced and another member saying it was a case of wrong place wrong time......
