Well i think even with the RE Audio and the ssd12 subs would have a lil wow factor, cause everything is going to be mounted inverted so baskets are out for the wow factor, but would the L7 beat out the RE Audio and the SoundSplinter

if those three brands arent the best choices, then what if i bought Two RE Audio SE 12" subs, and had them hooked up to my two Kenwood KAC-9152D amplifiers, would that hit pretty hard around 150 db.
or what would your suggestion be on 2 12" subs that would get me around 150db with a ported box. i have about 350 max to spend on the subs together.

If you have to ask about 150....you are prolly hitting 130.

no please dont delete, please re-evaluate your attitude, dang man. im just asking somet questions and i AM hitting 143.7 NOT 130, my goal is to try and hit 150 so im just trying to get some ideas of what subs are the best choice, chill out.

oh ok my bad FLIPX99, i read that wrong, it looked like you said to delete my post for me asking how to hit 150 and that instead i was prolly hittin 130,

and DEJAWIZ that lil hot to set your gain site in you sig is a great great thing for many newbies

there are all sql subs!!! but if they were to duke it out id have to go with the kicker L7 because it has more cone area

there not all SQL, you must mean SPL subs, cause the L7 isnt SQL, and maybe the Type R and the W7, but not kicker.

I really want to go with the L7's but i dont have enough space to give each sub its full 3.25 ft3, i think the most i can do is 2.75 ft3.

Exactly....

Has the girl been on the meter yet? That will make it easier to accomplish your goal.

But what is the goal? Louder than some girl or trying to hit 150?

thats cool, sorry for the misunderstanding FLIPX99, no the girl hasnt been on the meter that i know of, but her brother worked at an audio installation shop and he installed it. so i dont know what the deal is with that, like i thought maybe he just boosted her ego by sayin that its loud as hell, but im not sure if she's been on the meter or not. im pretty sure she hasnt, if she's claiming a 176 db with two 12W7, i dont think thats close to possible. cause her box isnt the biggest either. Also i think she thinks its soo loud cause its in a 04 Grand Am, so thats a small car and ive sat in the back seat when she drove around, and it does hit pretty good, but my guess would be a 148 db, maybe. cause ive seen 2 JL 12 in do a 147 but they werent W7's they were an older model and it had a bigger box

I am sure she is louder than me but 150 isn't my goal.

We can help you get to 150. Are you talking about 150 on a burp or 150 on music.

Either way, it will require prett extensive testing...or a lump sum of money.

What I don't understand is that initially he asked for an SPL sub, and ever since that point yall have been ragging on his choices, but then recommending SQ subs.

Stop being a bunch of jerks and simply help the kid. I am 100% positive when you first got into audio, you didn't have a freaking clue who Scott Atwell was, who Chad Kuypers was, who Dan Wiggins was, who Ben Milne was etc....so ****ing cut it out. I'm pretty sure none of you could just throw down the specs for vented enclosures either, you learned, just like this kid is trying to do. Just because you figured out the "big picture" of audio a month, a year, a decade before this kid did doesn't give you any right to talk down to him.

A few questions that you need to answer before you can get more help.

Are you looking to beat this girl on the mic, or just by ear...I know you said you want to see what would be best for an "SPL Ported box competition", but are you competing against this chick or just bumping your car in her face?

Do you care if your system sounds good, or do you just want to be able to sound really loud @ one note?

How much room do you have to work with for what your planning? What type of vehicle is this going in?

What is your final price range so other members can provide viable answers to your question at hand?
