haha, I started a little controversy with my posts... but I think you guys arent understanding what I'm saying... First off re-read what I said and remember I said I agree with the article...
speak for myself? well I am not white and people can deny it all they want, but they should be held accountable for their ancestors actions. What happened had a huge impact on the black race and made changes that are still visible today in the black race... So blacks, Natives and others are suffering today for what happened back then, so why shouldn't whites be suffering? And actually through all of these things, it's not making whites suffer at all. How's a black college fund hurting any white people? How's a black television channel hurting any white person? or a black magazine?
and any race for that matter... like the Natives, why not give the land back to them? If people hadn't came and took over their land, they'd be running this country right now... we owe them at least some things, maybe not the whole country even though it was stolen...
Also, there were times that African civilizations were the most advanced civilizations in the world... Did you ever wonder why they failed or fell apart? All of these people didn't just die, they were taken away to build a great European world.
But anyways, if you re-read what I wrote, you will see I actually agree with his article, I just thought he didn't have all of the right facts there supporting it and that it was a very easily debated article because of that.
So don't get all mad, I'm not siding with any race over his article, I actually agree with it.

well this must be a joke or just racist. There are many poor and messed up African countries for sure... but there are actually many well developed African countries. Look at all the diamonds that we value so much here, they all come from Sierra Leone, Ghana and places like that...

Blacks were exploited in these trades remember. The first blacks used as slaves were originally prisoners and people that deserved to be treated as slaves, then Europeans got a little greedy and exploited Africans, stole them and not all were fair traded slaves to Europeans.

yeah, and we usually do treat these children differently in society. If I told someone my dad was a serial killer, they would give me a weird look and have some thoughts about the kind of person I am. Also, if the serial killer had some kind of mental condition, their kids are usually checked out and tested to see if they have the same problems, so yeah a child is not held responsible but still treated differently because of that.
an example would be in a class I had this year, we had to share secrets about our lives, if we wanted to... a girl I know admitted that both of her parents were in jail... right away when I left the class, i heard people saying, oh that girls crazy. What our ancestors do/did is a part of us if we like it or not.

I'm not saying be held responsible, but they are treated differently because of that...
so taking it back on topic, knowing that today's white's ancestors did so much wrong in the past (I know every race did wrong things too..), then yeah, whites today should be treated differently or lose out on opportunities (like not being able to receieve a black college fund).
and I do just want to make sure people know, I AGREED WITH THE ARTICLE!

My ancestors came over after slavery (i'm irish by the way, and i've done a family tree). And slave ships are what caused the big irish immigration that happened. once slavery was done they used the ships for other things like transporting poeple and cargo. The cause was actually an airborne fungus originally transported in the holds of ships traveling from North America to England. The number of deaths is unrecorded, and various estimates suggest totals between 500,000 and more than one million. There's some history for ya. So alot of my ancestors were killed by something the same people who enslaved black people did, but nobody wants to talk about that. We have both had some messed up sh*t happen to our ancestors but I'm glad I'm here, and I know you are too, because most people in africa are having a pretty messed up life right now. So if you want to feel bad for someone, feel bad for them and not yourself, because you are better off then they are.
