Who is Richard Clarke??? There is an audible difference between different amplifiers. I just cannot believe that your statement is true. Please provide some proof that would change my mind otherwise. I cant imagine that people pay through the nose to get that tube-amp sound when it is supposedly undetectable by human ears. Why do I notice the difference then. I must have superhuman powers according to your statement. It may be something psychoacoustical, nevertheless, an amplifier can change the way something sounds, due to anomalies in its components, its settings, and its application. True, an amplifiers job is just to amplify sound, however, there is a difference . Your statement is a broad generalisation, and simply is not true.
I know, people these daysSet flat, plug amp A in and then plug amp B in ... you could only guess which one is which when it comes to sound quality. Hell, it doesn't even matter. Even if I plugged in one amp, then said "Ok, I changed amps, see if you notice a difference" ... and didn't actually plug in a different amp, they'd still say they notice a difference.

Exactally my point!a lot of this discussion deals w/ the fact that amps aren't rated the same company to company and deals a lot w/ power issues.....not sq

Cmpanies lie about their power ratings in general(MAX posted on cover). RMS is where it counts.
You should know all of this. WTF?
