Lies!

Humidity is a killer here as well.80 degrees isn't so much of a big deal to a huge portion of the country.

Try 80 degrees @ 80%+ relative humidity though and it becomes a whole different story...
Trust me I understand.

Oh, no biggie, Beat - I certainly understand why someone would be unwilling to live here.

The summertime heat + humidity is freggin' miserable. If you aren't used to it certainly you wouldn't want to have to become used to it.

But - on the flipside of that coin are those of us who were born and raised here. I've been here all my life and miserable summers are simply one more aspect of yearly life. I can't say that I enjoy it - though Louisiana having a huge number of really nice lakes makes up for it somewhat and the heat is a great excuse for going to the lake on the weekend...

When I visited your state, it was for the 4th of July weekend. I quite enjoyed it....but I hate skeeters.
Well, we for sure have some serious ones here!

I mean serious to the point that some of them, after you hit them with your car, can be seen in the rearview mirror limping and flipping you the bird as you drive away. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Skeery stuff our skeeters can be...
