The fella with the new gear is happy so I reckon it was a success.
Then we took a ride in my car and I was listening to something bass-heavy...don't recall at the moment exactly what...and he wanted to know how to get his setup to get that loud.
I told him that it was the simplest of concepts ~ be willing to spend more money. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
He asked what I meant by that and I said simply. "A 10" subwoofer in a sealed box driven by 350 to 400w Vs a (somewhat better) 12" subwoofer in a ported enclosure being driven by 750+ watts."
When I told him the retail pricetag on my M6mkII when it was new was more for just the single raw driver than he just spent on a pair of 10s, an amp, a sheet of MDF, and a terminal cup together all he had to say was "Nevermind."
Edit:
I just looked over that last paragraph and MY! but it sounds awfully condescending. It wasn't meant that way to either you, kind reader, or the person it was originally told to. It was intended for illustrative purposes only //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Sorry about that...
It lost control, flipped over a guardrail, and rolled down the side of a cliff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
