THE Thread

why is firefox still such a memory hog? Within the first minute of opening it it goes up to 600,000kb and keeps rising til it slows my computer down so much that I cant do anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did the same thing. Whats the deal? I have to keep using opera. Firefox has the best plugins.

I feel like I'm back in high school....
You should go back....you need to graduate.

I just ran into a big kink in my planned audio upgrade. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The new HU I was seriously considering won't be available until July according to Kenwood's press release. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

That's as likely as George Bush the Sr. getting elected in '08....

There's a reason why I stay so unwaveringly loyal to Kenwood and in more recent years their eXcelon gear. I'm not unhappy with the XXV but looking at the specs for the upcoming KDC-X991 it's simply a better deck (better DTA functionality, onboard memory for ripping music straight to the HU, etc etc) so the 25th Anniversary deck may very well be going into storage come summertime.

I have to check that out, because I have been looking for old music kegs for the next kenwood deck I buy. Depends on the how much memory, because the kegs can be hacked, and you can put larger drives in them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

As long as that's the case I ain't worried about the haters. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Hero, according to the tech sheets I've seen to this point the KDC-X991 has 512mb of onboard memory that will rip .wma files straight off of disc within the unit or .mp3, .aac, and other common compressed music filetypes via the USB input. Not heaps of space internally (1/2 gig) but it would certainly make for handy access for those tracks you put in there. No, not a flipout....just a pretty full-featured single-DIN CD receiver.

I dont know what it is about flipout or full screens that I like (i think i t makes me look baller), but I know I never said I would go back. Moslty its for song selection, cuz Ive always used mp3 discs, going through the songs was so much easy when you had direct track access and could just touch them, so much faster. And when i had the playstationa dn tv tuner hooked up that was good too. Now im looking at navigation for both. And adding about 40gb to my keg. well see.

On a sid enote im watching star trek next generation.
