Mike, I loved my church when I was little because there was actual fellowship there. Through the years, though, things have changed and nowadays it seems to be little more than people putting on an act of being decent human beings all the while in the background they're playing "Keeping Up With The Joneses" with the cars they drive, the clothes they wear, etc. My church is full of rich snobs and it's little to nothing to do with having faith in Christ anymore.

I need to find a new church but the one I speak of is the one I was raised in so my loyalty to it, no matter how irritated I get over the current state of things, remains pretty unshaken.

i know what you mean. thats the problem i have with most churches i run across these days. but i know some of the people at this church and i've been before. they are definatly good people and its where i feel called for the time being.

Well, if you feel drawn there there's not much to be done about it except go and see what happens over the long haul.
