I was over at a buddy of mine's house and where my car was sitting in regards to where we were standing BS'ing made it look like the back door windows were almost pitch black. My buddy remarked that my car looks like a K-9 unit with the back windows being so much darker than the front ones.

The actual GM paint code is 72U, specifically named 'Crimson Cloak Mica.'

The car, when I bought it, had hail damage all over it....looked like someone had gone over the car pretty liberally from one end to the other with a ball peen hammer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Took the guy that did the body/paint work forever to get it all smoothed out. There are four coats of paint on the places that had to have bodywork then 8 coats across the whole car (in PPG paint) then 4 coats of clear.

It cost me materials (just the paint was $478/gallon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif) + $100 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

So, all in all, after buying the primer, the paint, the paper&tape for the windows, etc etc etc the grand total out of my pocket was around $800.
