THE Thread

I'm not growing my hair out on purpose I've just been too lazy to go get a haircut these last few months and consequently it's looking pretty ratty.

Guess I need to get off my tookus and get that taken care of...

I'm very jealous of the seating you had in Death Valley this past Saturday, Chevy.

I did have every TV in the house tuned to KMSS, though, so I wouldn't miss anything no matter where in the house I was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I used to go to the Bank Barber Shop downtown on Edwards (it's within sight of the Greyhound station in between Travis and Fannin) but the guy that cut my hair there died. I used him as he was the barber that cut my dad's hair for close to 60 freggin' years until he passed on (the barber....Dad's still kickin' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

Here of late I have been going to whatever hair place is in Pierre Bossier mall close to the food court. There's this little, short black woman who is competent and extremely quick and it only costs $10, I think? I normally pay her $15 as she has one more feature that I really love in a barber/hairstylist/whatever you wanna call 'em: She can tell when you're not in a chatty mood and if so she'll stfu, cut your hair, and get you out the door.

I hate a hair person that feels the need to engage their customer in a long-winded conversation whether the customer cares to do so or not.

hair cuts = overrated
I agree for the most part.

I once wore my hair very long as in when I had it in a ponytail the tail still hung below my shoulder blades but when my sister got married the only request she had of her younger brother was that he not have a ponytail hanging down the back of his tuxedo.

As the hope is that this marriage will be the only one she'll ever have I was willing to give in and since I hate that stage between short hair and long hair where it is completely unmanageable I keep it trimmed because I haven't cared to grow it back out.

Then since I got married myself last year I couldn't see that my wife would have much cared for her groom having an unkempt-looking head so it got cut pretty short then as well.
