A Question For Everyone....would the size of the muffler's body make a difference with how loud it is?

for example:

I have a muffler that is 14" in length

I am looking at the same brand muffler, but its 20" in length.

would that be less noisey?

Large mufflers are more fart cannon sounding, less loud

Small mufflers are more weed wacker sounding and louder.
