THE Thread

I'm giving the guy with those 10" EV drivers much shit in his thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

It sure feels like a scam the way he's going about things as well as not having a clue about the drivers he is selling ftl //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

eBay item description that I found humorous:

you are bidding on 2 used 10" subwwofers in an after market box, and 4 channel 1600 watt amp, and an RCA Cable and Power Wire Cable, and like 5-6 ft of thick speaker wire. The left subwoofer has a dent in it, from shipping when i bought it, don't worry, wont affect sound quality. These iteam's I listed are almost a while car audio system that you need. The only thing you need is a ground wire (any wire) a system remote wire(any wire). Thats ALL. The subwoofers handle 250 watts a piece. 500 watts max, although I had them hooked up to a MTX 600watt MONO block amp. SO I'm saying that i had them running at about 300 watts. I am not SAYING to hook them up just because I said that I had them hooked up to that, but do what you want. There is no refund, sold as is, no refund. The amp is almost brand new. I used it only for about 10min. Thats all. Thank you for looking and Have fun bidding.

I DID get a reply from the idiot with the alleged 200dB+ setup!

First of all get your facts straight. The world record is 231db held by Joe Tanner from Maddison Wisconson. Read the rest of the add. This is a fraction of what was hooked up to the head. I don't think I would sell a $15,000 stereo. I had 12 Polk Audio 6x9s in the car, 6 500w amps, 3 12in subs and 4 14in subs, all gold Monster cables, MTX45 crossovers, and an EQ. This is a massive load of power. I had a stronger alternator put in and an extra battery. The 300M it was in, was tested from inside the car at 193db. I would not include the Thunder Performance test sheet if I was full of shit.

Anyone have any freggin clue where he's getting that 231dB figure from???

I just sent him back a pretty straighforward response that included my telling him that I very clearly had my facts straight as I took them directly off of USACI's site wherein the current world records are clearly posted. No one has topped 190dB in any sanctioned event and they've not even approached 200dB as of yet much less 230dB+. His inclusion of the birthsheet from the MTX amp is supposed to prove what, exactly? That someone in MTX's QC Dept. was doing their job that day?

I concluded the response with the very clear assertion that he is nothing short of a liar and that I would be reporting his listing post haste to the proper department in San Jose.

Which I have done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
