And I wonder how mucj it works out to with tax and an international driving permit (which allows you to legally operate a motor vehicle in every country on the planet except two! How cool is that?) and all the other stuff that has to factor in?

But, if you plan on going anytime soon I would get a ticket asap. I f lew back to see my girl a month ago and my ticket was $203.15

Then that's not too bad. Was the flight directly to Adelaide or was there a connection or four going that way? I've always (the three times I have been to Australia at this point) gone here to Dallas then through L.A. then on to Oz from Cali...

But.....we're coming up on the summer travel season and plane fares are always higher then. Look like to the beginning of '07. Fares in late January or early Feb will be way cheaper than the same flight around Christmastime

Okay - then that's the same way I have always gone before but going to LAX via New Orleans rather than Dallas. Being as I am 3 hours drive from Dallas and 5.5 hours drive from NO it makes better sense to go thru DFW.
