A guy I went to junior high with made up this comic book when we were in 8th Grade that he actually managed 4 'volumes' (is that right when talking about comic books?) that he called The Pixie Dudes. 

It was a really strange story about these high-profile executive types who made entirely too much money for their own good and all became hooked on cocaine. Well, as addiction to cocaine does for so many unfortunate souls, their addictions cost them everything of value in their lives: jobs, families, homes, etc etc etc.

After they were all broke and basically destitute they were hunting some sort of high but none of them had any money. One of the guys gets this bright idea to snort the contents of some Pixie Stix to see what happens and (stay with me guys - it was an attempt at a comic book series that wasn't half bad for an 8th grader!) when that massive sugar rush reacted with the cocaine residue still left in their systems there was some sort of chemical reaction which mutated them and gave them superpowers.
