I hit a few balls at the range prior to playing and I wasn't hitting my driver worth a crap. So I stuck with the 5 iron on my tee shots and I was probably avg around 200 yds with that, so it wasn't too bad. Sunk a nice putt from about 30-35 ft out. Shot a 93 or 94 I believe. Took out the driver on all the par 5's and finally on the last one I ripped a line drive that we estimated at around 325 yds, would have rolled farther but it bounced and hit the upslope of a hill. I think I may have figured out what I was doing wrong with my swing though. My arms aren't going together in one motion. One arm is pulling down faster than the other I believe. Because when I hit that nice drive, I concentrated on keeping my arms together throughout the swing. It's just going to take more work, plus I may go see the golf pro at one of the courses so they can point me in the right direction. At one point in time last year, I my handicap was around 12 or 13 I believe for about 6 months. Then I bought new clubs, shot my best round ever with them (79) then after that I couldn't hit hte driver worth a crap and all my iron shots were hooking, and my drives would curve into the ground and roll or be grounders from the get-go. When I was playing good, my avg drive was around the 270 mark. I've driven the green on a par 4- 320 yds, and 3 holes that were in the 270-300 range. It's just a matter of getting that driver down again and improving on my iron shots. I'm not getting any air under my pw, sw, or 9 iron shots, I'm hitting mostly line drive shots right now.

I've always had that problem with my full-swing PW/SW/9-iron - the only thing I can sky and control my spin with is my LW, which is weird. I've got the Phil Mickelson type shot going with the LW, but just how often do you get to make use of that? I can hit it too far as I'll just pull my head up and skull the thing, so I've got to be in fairly close.

If I were you'd I'd definitely go take a lesson from the pro. Hopefully he'll analyze every little thing about your swing. I went to see the pro here regarding my stance and he wound up jacking my swing around. After shooting a comfortable par or a stroke or two over at most courses around here for years, I thought it was crazy. But really, it was well worth it - now if there's a stroke or three (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif) over par, it's always due to me ******* it up on the grees.

I wish I could get on the course this early. Still snow out there and then the frost comes in the morning for a while. Should be the beginning of March and I'll be able to get back on the driving range and the courses should open shortly after.

Nice to see others with the same passion for the sport on here.
