Yeah, a buddy has one on his LR Defender from around that era...

That era Patrol looks like a cross between a Defender and a '40.

Pretty much, I wanted a Series II LR but they all seem to be in Colorado and are beat to hell. Add in the Al body and the cost to fix it = Scout!

Where do you work? That sounds like a reasonably expensive mistake... I would be quite embarassed if I was bad enough at driving a stick to hit another car and not have been able to hit the brakes/put the clutch in/ steer around it first.

I like the look of the Scout 800 anyway...may sit lower to the ground, but has better lines...

Tough to find in good condition, though.

Mine was so **** mint after I got done with it too, all it needed was a fresh coat of paint and the engine was about due for a rebuild but all the hubs, 4 speed, transfer case, front/rear dif., windows, guages, seats, seatbelts, etc were fixed and rockin hard.
