What about Solar panels? How much was your generator, and how hard was it to hook it into your home service panel. It makes sense what you are saying only because thats how ive learned to do it in the field, but im sure it's waay harder to do something like that in a real house. Also where is your generator? Do you have in buried in the ground somewhere?

And I hate East B-more cops, and Howard County cops.

Even more of a reason to get a generator when your local utility sucks the big one...

Hell, a set of deep cycle batteries (like 100Ah brutes) running off a small solar panel will give you lights and power for a few days, at least.

I'll take pictures of the install tomorrow if you're curious. It's outside, under the porch.

Pretty expensive when you look at dollars/watt value, but they'd work as well. A few hundred watts of solar panels charging deep cycle batteries would be a good way to be prepared for short outages. I doubt you could go for more than a few days on battery power alone though...

Freakin' shit. Who created diysubwoofers.com! I am going to stab them for improper use of parenthesis in these equations!

I'm trying his "minimum port diameter" equation and it's giving me a result of 113cm. That's a little crazy for a single 12. I would like to think that it's a typo and the results are in mm but who the hell knows!

I missed the auction I was going for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

**** stupid 56k connection...missed it by under 30 seconds.

Anyone want to build me a pair of backloaded horns? Seriously...

Frosty, if you get solar panels your electric bill is considerably decreased.

Not to mention, if hooked up directly to your power i delieve the hydro company pays you or you get a nice chunk taken out of your taxes, something along those lines

If you go grid intertie...that's a whole 'nother ball game.

Depends on which state you are, as to whether that's legal to hook up a renewable energy source to the grid. At the very least, you need an inverter that's good enough to analyze the incoming power (translation, those little 2 outlet jobbers don't cut the mustard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

This is another interest of mine...although I've never really had the cash or good location to build a big system.
