a) Open window

b) Take CDA-7930 firmly in hand

c) Throw out open window as hard and as far as personal strength level will allow for

d) Close window

e) Shop around for a decent used eXcelon that I can afford after I save for a bit...

f) Call it a day.

With the unit itself?

Nothing. It works flawlessly.

But as I am not mounting it in a Toyota or a Nissan that calls for an ISO-DIN mounting wherein the mounting sleeve becomes a superfluous accessory I have been continually stonewalled trying to locate the proper mounting cage and the required accessories for securing the deck to the cage.

As I currently do not have a way to securely join the deck and its sleeve consequently I have no way to properly install the bloody thing.

It's been a losing proposition all the way 'round seemingly and I am coming to the end of my patience with it.

That is what I would do ~ especially since I stated to Reson8 that is exactly what would happen to it should I ever get in the position of upgrading from it.

I didn't know you ran a Kenwood HU.

I love my XXV-01D. I was pretty fond of the KDC-X679 I ran before that. I liked the KDC-X569 I ran before that just fine as well. The X569 was the first in-dash CD player I ever bought myself. What I used prior to that was the KRC-608 cassette receiver that can be seen in many pics that I post on the forum along with a KDC-C604 ten-disc changer. The changer took a dump some years ago but the tape deck still works 100% and has never given me the first moment's trouble. Not bad for a radio I bought over a decade ago and still have hanging around, eh?
