was bored so i went and checked my voltages at the battery with car on and off. 14.45 with it on and 12.15 with it off, my electrical is up to par. hooray!

its accurate to the HU, atleast my P770MP is. voltage to your HU will be different than your subs though.

when checking voltage to an amp, do i just touch the prongs to the metal part of the wire terminal?

touch where yo have the wire running into the amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif that will tell you whats running in. now you have to touch the possitive of the speaker output to see whats coming out in AC voltage.
