I did the same thing everytime I was getting in a car when I was in Japan. Was no getting used to it for me.My very first trip over there in 2001 was kinda funny when I first landed in Adelaide (the city Mrs Prowler lives in)
I got off the plane, collected my baggage etc, and we're walking out to the parking lot to go to her car.
I, being the Southern Gentleman my father raised my to be, immediately go to the driver's door to open it for her.
She looks at me and says "You're not driving just yet!"
I looked back, chuckled, and calmly opened her door before walking away to put my bags in the trunk (called the "boot" over there)
After she realized why I had gone to her door she felt really silly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I got to visit Tokyo very briefly on my 1st trip to Oz. Actually, on the way back. Part of the online deal I had scored for plane fare included an overnight stay at the Hotel Narita (apparently owned by Japan Airlines) in Tokyo on the return trip. The day following I had a few hours to wander. Didn't get to see a whole lot but what I saw was pretty cool.I did the same thing everytime I was getting in a car when I was in Japan.
