The SQeer Thread

My first advice would be to listen to winning vehicle if at all possible. I got this chance and was astounded. My definition of SQ is not what I heard in this particular vehicle. This type of experience will give you something to "judge" your own vehicle on and get you heading down the right path. Sit in the car, and close you eyes, clear your mind and grasp the image you have in your head.

If you plan on competing, get some info from the competitors and judges first, then start working on it.

The links Squeak provided are excellent BTW. It's always nice to get expert advice.

is there anything else I can do to my front stage(Polk MMC650) to help out with SQ? Should I add a seperate tweeter away from the coax? Should I even install the coaxs or just buy some comps? I'm wanting all the sq I can get. I like to feel like I'm @ a concert.

I had the chance to do that last weekend. I completly agree that I had no Idea what SQ was. Now I have a better idea and I am slowly working on an SQ/SQL setup. I dont want to change the mounting location cause I may be getting a new vehicle very soon.

Comps>coax any day. If you are serious about wanting an SQ system, save your money and find a nice set of comps and an amp to push them.

Well the amp I'm pickin up for the front is an old skool Kicker 652xi. 65x2 @ 4ohms. Anyone reccomend how to setup comps correctly? I have no idea on the crossovers. Also does Polk make some good comps?

I suggest you make a thread in the speakers section. You should get a ton of responce there.
