Joe Montana not ready to say Tom Brady's the best QB ever.

For any fans who weren't already convinced Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time, the Patriots' stunning rally to win Super Bowl 51 led to plenty of headlines and tweets declaring Brady certainly is the GOAT now.

But wait — Joe Montana begs to differ. You remember Montana, the quarterback who led the 49ers to four Super Bowl victories in the 1980s. Montana was widely hailed as the NFL's greatest quarterback before Brady came along.

And in an appearance Friday on the Hallmark Channel's "Home & Family" show, Montana said there have been too many great quarterbacks in NFL history, across different eras, to call anyone "the greatest of all time."

"He's obviously having this great career, but I just think that it's hard to put anyone in that bucket," Montana said, via TMZ. "Even before he got five, you look back at some of the guys that some people don't even know, Sammy Baugh or Otto Graham … (Graham) won like seven championships.

"They were so far ahead of their time. It's hard to compare guys from then to now, and how they would compare here and how we would compare back then."

When the show's hosts joked that some would call Montana the greatest quarterback of all time, he disagreed.

"Even though people say that —and I appreciate that —I still can't say that about myself," Montana said.

Montana's wife, Jennifer, with him on the show, begged to differ.

"At home, you're saying that all the time," she quipped. "We are reminded constantly."

Lol, love Montana. Long live the GOAT!

better passed. has more touchdowns higher completion % its all there. not to mention hes 6' tall and came back from a major surgery for a team was below average with some no name WRs and Reggie dush.

brees will surpass EVERYONE unless something bad happens.

Brees has one super bowl. He's not even top ten.

brees tok a ****** team to the superbowl and beat the best QB in the LEAGUE. then the NFL without any evidence took 2 years of invalabule first round pics fired the defensive coach and suspended nearly half the starters and suspended the head coach. they never proved in court that there was ANY EXCHANGE OF MONEY FOR THE SUPPOSED TARGETING. that is why the defensive coach who was barred from the NFL was allowed to com back and players suspensions where lifted..

bress has better starts then any QB is history in passer completion % fastest to reach 50K yards.

when you have a team like the pats who constantly cheat and get away with everything this is what happens. brady is a chump. hes not an accurate passer he a ******* cry baby and he is in a low risk offense not to mention there defense has been top ranked for the last couple years.

2 more season and bress will shatter payton all time passing record by around 4000 yards in the same amount of games player with a higher passer completion rating if he keeps on that track. i could only imagine if he started is career with paying it wouldn't be fair.

In that game, Brees had a perfect passer rating of 158.3 while throwing for 371 yards and five touchdowns on a Monday night in the Superdome -- one of the key performances during the Saints' Super Bowl run.
