The road to SQ

I am having a Sony GPS double Din installed this weekend. I drive a 2009 Kia Sedona minivan (no laughing please) Eventually I'd like to upgrade to better sounding setup. Can you all recommend an economical route to SQ nirvana?

The minivan has separate tweeters so I'd like to get component speakers. What would you recommend? I can't take up storage space by adding a sub so would have to make do with what is in there. Any ideas??

thanks for all your help.

if you mean actual SQ like having a truely flat response at all frequencies, those words just don't mix.

I understand, I guess by SQ I meant the best sounding system with a reasonable budget. Any advice? I can spend maybe 300 on speakers, do I just replace fronts as I am looking for a nice soundstage?

will you have room in the 'minivan' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nutkick.gif.acc8dcd6c1bd27fba0cbeda5b212085c.gif for an amp to power the comps? i'm sorry you said no laughing:) if not then you'll want to look for more efficient speakers. also you may want to add new coaxes in place of the rear speakers but do the front first if cashflow is an issue.

sorry i missed your reply. Its ok laugh away //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Doesn't mean I don't deserve good sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Can the amp be mounted underneath a seat? I should have room under the front seat. If not which efficient speakers would you recommend?

While it seems ideal, if you tune your car completely flat you are going to be dissappointed.

As for your second point. You can do amazing things if you take your time and test out different ideas. SQ isn't about buying the most expensive system you can. Get the install right and you will be amazed what "cheap" stuff can do. I spent $40 bucks on a pair of pyle 6.5" components and scored a 30 in MECA RTA, and a 79.7 in Street SQL ........Why? Just to prove the point that a solid install is key //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Look into powered subs... That's what I've done up until now. Amp and sub in one package. I put mine under my seats. You might be able to do the same depending on room. Just DON'T get the powered sub made by Boss it's terrible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
