The "8's vs 10" thread is getting old, I'm going with 8's...so quit arguing!

what do you mean peaky response? like right around the 40hz area? so tuning a little lower, like 36-38hz will make it sound a little smoother?
If you tune around 40hz they will be peaky around 40-55hz. I would rather put those subs in about 2.5 net tuned to 33hz if you're concerned about low end.

 
how are the DD's sq in their proper ported box? There was a few people on another forum that listened to the 1508's and other 8" subs and they said the DD's had a sound of their own...whatever that means.
