We brought IM here a couple months ago for a show. Cool dudes and good from a production standpoint. I've seen them perform better, though.

Not IM, just some friends that opened for them, but a cool picture

k. then what do U like? instead of posting worthless shit, why not post something other members might find useful?
why dont you watch your fucking mouth and chill out

first off, techno is a genre all its own, not a collective term for all electronic music.

so, if its techno artists you want to hear about, I don't really have much to offer considering I think most 'techno' is nothing but repetitive bleepy noises made by people who still use ancient equipment because they can't let the past die.

that being said, some of it is allright. I dig some stuff on drumcode (and code red if you know what that is), some old saunderson, may, and i can tolerate richie / plastikman for obvious reasons. minus orange was the shit, but then again the last time i heard it i was 16.

trance...mostly sucks. i got into it in the late 90's when progressive was making it big but then i realized i was about the only straight person in the club come about 2001. it was good while it lasted, but i can only take the same reverbed / delayed pre-programmed synth pattern so many times. trance I like? most stuff on hooj choons, deep and drummy, i'll leave it at that. I haven't seriously listened to trance since about, oh, 2002-2003. the reason I said tiesto is wack, is, well, because he is. i see his dumbass every year in miami and its the same look-at-me $15 corona sipping soundtrack thats prevalent at every crobar across the states. puke.

Um how bout you get off my back about that? If i go to a thread im not just gonna go in, read a post, and reply with nothing of use to the thread. Now you of course did contribute greatly to the thread, and i thank you. But dont get bent out of shape over such stupid crap. Its the lounge. Chill.

I personally like what OM Records puts out. More groove and chill stuff.

Last time I was at the record store I didn't see a trance or techno section...but I did find the 'electronica section'. The following music would be found there....where that's accurate or not I really don't flippin give a shit!!! Whoever says 'that music sucks because I don't like it' should go play in traffic!

Rank1

Chicane

ATB

Massive Attack

Above & Beyond

Way out West

The majority of what I like goes along the lines of synthpop, futurepop, EBM, and some industrial. Mostly, I listen to VNV Nation, Wolfsheim, Mesh, Assemblage 23, T.O.Y., Juno Reactor, Covenant, and Apoptygma Berzerk. The tier two groups that I occasionally listen to (and some are borderline electronica) are Orbital, Skinny Puppy, The Beloved, Echo Image, Icon of Coil, ******* Commando, and even Robert Miles.

relax dude, you don't have to tell me to chill. everyone knows I'm joking around.

Robert Miles.
I can see you blasting 'children' all night long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I listen to quite a lot music. I was thinking more about you giving me shit about The Beloved than Robert Miles. I see you doing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIvhVDDxjxA. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

mmmm electronica. Its a complicated genre, you got so many flavors that melt together on this one....house, acid house, trance, hiphouse, eurotrance, breakbeat, acid jazz, chill, drum & bass, drum & space....man I could go on for hours..... the thing that usually links all of these together is that they are built on an intelligent sound and thats what draws in people who are intellectually superior to the audio movement. You just wont find some crackheads listening to Ferry Corsten in a back alley of a beer joint,....its not gonna happen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

You either get electronica or you dont....its as simple as that. If you dont like it, you probably have a skynard cd in your collection.

on that note :

crap.. I didn't put that one song up last night...

I was busy changing my brakes.

And oakenfold doesn't ****. Mainstream?? Well.. yeah.. as far as techno goes... but his songs are amazingly well put together. I don't care how popular he is.. it still sounds good.

Wow Oakenfold, Teisto, Corsten = Techno? No offense, but they play $hit trance.

Techno is Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Sven Vath, I could go on forever. Bleeps and blops? Please. While the whole minimal thing is geting a little played out at the moment for me these guys are doing awesome stuff in the Techno scene. The M-nus label is storming right now.

My favorite DJ, and he has been for a long time, is my boy Lee Burridge out of the UK. Plays straight up underground house in all forms. Your *** will not stop shaking at one of his gigs. Check out his 24/7 Global Underground Disk or his Tyrant Disks with Craig Richards. They have been around for awhile, but still hold up after time.

maybe not in the back alley of a beer joint, maybe in just a regular back alley.

oh, and they aren't called crackheads...they're called ravers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
