Okay guys, the time has come. After discussing it between the mod staff, the decision is to disallow the use of the N word, in all forms. I know some of you will see this as over-moderation, and I apologize if you feel that way, but we have received some complaints over the use of the word (including the slang "nga") so it has been decided the best option is to ask/request/insist that forms of the word not be allowed. Nobody here is suggesting that previous usage of the term means the person is racist, but it clearly bothers some people, so for the sake of their views, we must ask that you find another way to express yourself. I understand the term, many times, is actually used to imply friendship, but even in those positive examples, people still see it as offensive. Please refrain from using the term, in all forms.
Again I realize some people will see this as over-moderation, and to those people I have no response that will satisfy their angst. I see it as trying to increase the friendliness of the site in general. Thank you for understanding, and please realize we did not come to this decision lightly. We do not wish to impose too many rules on you guys, but we also dont want anyone here to feel they are being treated as a second-class member based on race, ethnicity, or religion. Hopefully you all understand the basis for this decision.

In summary, the N word and its slang shortcuts are not considered acceptable any longer. I will sticky this thread for a while to insure most/all members have a chance to review the policy change. Thanks for your cooperation in this regard.

May I ask why you feel the need to use this particular word, specifically?

I rarely use it, and when I do its when i'm joking around with someone whom knows i'm already joking around. It seems you mods have very little political background when dealing with issues. If you'd of never of brought this up, it wouldn't of been a big deal. I'm guessing like 4-10 people complained over the years and now, you've created your own pot for us all to stir with a grin on our collective faces. This is one of the stupidest things you all have done since electing mods (mike, worst, bob) Its like you enjoy failure.

I'm suggesting now that continual shenanigans like this are just to increase posts/activity on the site for profit. It only makes sense at a business standpoint. ... more clicks = more $$ = happy goob. Now that you're part of the machine, you should understand that.

I agree. I'll also add that Im going to do my best to not let a few trouble makers take it upon themselves to cause enough problems to affect the rules of this site. Im sure there are a few people out there thinking they are going to start trying to cause trouble, get people to complain, and force us to make a bunch more rules. You know, just because some people like to cause trouble, or want to attempt to hurt this site for their own personal reasons. If I get this feeling from someone, at all, I will be forced to exact consequences on them solely.

Since a few people here are already approaching this threshold, in this thread, Im going to lock it. I could say a lot more, but Im going to keep my mouth shut for the sake of goodwill and the hope those people have gotten it all out of their system by now. Consider yourselves notified of the rule change. There will be consequences from here on out for violations of this rule. The vast majority of you are being open minded and mature about this, I appreciate that. Again, I will not allow the few people who are not, try to ruin it for everyone.
