Verlander plain and simple has the best stuff in the bigs right now... Mid-high 90s fastball, disgusting curveball, and an emerging changeup. Finally looks like he's learning how to locate his fastball too. Saw him pitch in '06 @ Yankee Stadium in the playoffs and was extremely impressive. Then again i did see Zumaya pitch later on in the game too, throwing consecutive 100-104mph fastballs right by the yankee batters.

I was at game 3 and watched Kenny Rogers dominate the Yankees. Good times.

Zumaya isn't fooling anyone anymore. When hitters know the 100 MPH fastball is coming, they can hit it. That is all Zumaya features. His curve is horrible and his change is non existent. Even though he had a great 2006, having him on the big league team may have hurt him because he hasn't developed any secondary pitches.

The only reason Verlander's ERA is over 3 is because of his first 4 starts. He gave up 8, 1, 5, and 7 ER. He started the season allowing 21 ER runs in 21 IP for an ERA of 9. Since, he has pitched 77 inning giving up 15 ER for an ERA of 1.75.

Verlander's 8 ER against Toronto was in 3.2 innings. Verlander was pretty bad his first 4 starts.
