**The MLB Thread**

He just looked old. His bat was slow, his range sucked, and he had no power.
he's had more power recently, he just has a bad year and then a good one. I guess since he had an average year last year, he'll have a good one next year. He still puts up good numbers though for a shortstop IMO. I don't know to many shortstops that have a .290 career BA.

A few years back Sox got Schilling on Thanksgiving. Maybe Theo will bring another present

Anyone hear Tex is asking for 10 years? Anyone think he will get it?

Gerald Laird traded to Detroit for Guillermo Moscoso and Carlos Melo. Moscoso is a solid prospect. Supposedly Laird is a good defensive catcher.

I cannot believe he or his agent would allow such a picture

In other news the Tigers signed Adam Everett. The Tigers could possibly have the worst hitting infield in the majors between Laird, Everett, and Inge but they are substantially better defensively.

I remember when phat used to post in this thread.

The Tigers infield defense was pretty bad last year but should be much improved this year. If they could move Guillen that would be great. It wouldn't hurt to move Sheffield and DH Guillen, but Guillen still has 3 year left on his contract and likely untradable.

LOL, I guess you missed where this picture was thrown around as a look a like after you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Tigers are also targeting Putz and Wood. I like Putz over Wood, but Wood wouldn't require any players to be traded. I would also like to see them bring in Lowe. With a sinkeballer like Lowe, he would be great with this sick defensive left side of the infield.

LAS VEGAS – This morning, the Tigers and Seattle Mariners have discussed a trade that would bring closer J.J. Putz back to his home state.

It’s not clear if the clubs are close to a deal, but the talks appear to be ongoing. Putz, 31, is one of Detroit’s top targets on the closer market, along with free agent Kerry Wood.

Seattle officials believe they will be able to obtain a three-player package for Putz. The Mariners might ask the Tigers to include infielder Jeff Larish and outfielder Matt Joyce in the deal.
Matt Joyce played well for Detroit but I don't know if he projects to be an everyday player. Larish is 1B/DH and Detroit is full of 1B/DH so he is expendable.
