**The MLB Thread**

yes, pujols is the michael jordan of baseball, and yes dustin pedroia is the best second baseman in baseball right now. Kent was the best, but the torch has been passed to utley in the NL and Pedroia in the AL. I still think Utley will have a better career than pedroia, but who knows for sure right?
Oh, and in recent memory, the best second baseman is jeff kent......... i don't know who said pedroia is the best in recent memory, but that is not true. LOL
I said he had one of the best seasons for a second basemen in recent history. First 2b since 1959 to win the AL MVP and first 2b to win MVP,SS and GG in same season since Ryne Sanberg. Id say that shows you how hard it is for a middle infeilder to do. Im not saying he is the best just this season was something special. Dont forget this is the post steriod era.

As far as Pujols goes

He plays in the NL and Arod plays in the AL ,where lets be honest thats where all the better pitchers pitch. He has had to battle in the AL East for a while where it is fierce. Yankee stadium is not a right handed hitters ball park and I think he has the RH HR record. Corner outfeilders and 1st basemen are often are the power number guys and Arod put up those numbers at ss. He was a good ss moved over and played 3b fine (except that one year lol). Look at baseball history stats there wont be a lot of ss or 2b on the leaders

But yes Arod sticks when it counts. Best player in baseball is a tough arguement. Not sure who Id say.

it's cool, i didn't see your comment cuz i'm too busy trying to get lugnutz to understand that AROD is overrated because he said he would take him over pujols.

He won two MVP's and wow at the other part. I don't know what to say. Both of his MVP seasons were better then Pedroia's.
yeah, he did win it twice, but his numbers are nothing that would get him in the hall of fame with todays standards. I never said he didn't win, i just didn't think he did.

LOL, he's a career .271 hitter. I still like joe though.

He's a 2nd baseman. It's not an offensive position. Are you ****ing kidding me?

so, he still is an average player for todays standards, and i am really surprised he won mvp's, oh wait, he hit .320 both of those seasons. The rest of his seasons were closer to .260

and position has nothing to do with my comment on him and his MVP's. An mvp usually isn't a second baseman anyway LOL
