I don't know why people put down the Tigers rotation and compare them to the Yankees. They are totally different. The Yankees have 35 year old starters, the Tigers have 3 starters who are 25, and all are proven at the big league level and have pitched in a World Series. They are just now entering their physical prime. This rotation has the potential to be top 5 in the American League. Hell it was #1 in 2006 and the entire rotation is intact except for Maroth, they have Willis.

Ice....who would you give up....Fernando martinez or Carlos Gomez?

I don't know much about the Mets prospects. lets just say I wouldn't have traded Maybin and/or Miller for Santana.

The problem with Santana is, he's going to be 30, you give him a 6 year contract, and you are going to be paying a 36 year old pitcher 20+ million. Pitchers are much more uncertain then hitters.

I would've rolled the dice on Haren. Not as costly but doesn't have the exceptional track record that Santana has.

Still less then what Minnesota wants for Santana. Contrary to what Audiolife believes, you actually have to give up top talent to get a pitcher like Santana.
