Why would you just swap 1B? Delgado makes more then Guillen, is older then Guillen, and will be a free agent.

I think the Mets are seriously considering bringing AROD and moving Wright to 1B

Polanco could play 2B

but like you said, this wouldnt make sense for the Tigers...unless Renteria plays 2B and Guillen plays SS or vice versa

Inge is a much more athletic defender and would play SS or 2B. Remember Inge originally came up as a SS and Seattle played Guillen at 3rd.

If Delgado could play LF, I'd be all for bringing him to Detroit. The Tigers need a lefty with power who draw walks, but there is no sense in subtracting one of your best hitters for Delgado.
