**The MLB Thread**

A-rod would be a perfect fit in Detroit. He'd have guys in front of who could score runs like Granderson and Polanco, and you could bat Magglio 3rd, so that leaves 3 guys who get on base for A-rod to drive in, then you got Sheffield and Guillen to bat behind him. He would be also be idolized in Detroit vs. booed in New York.

so his .159 BA combined over the last 3 years playoffs makes him worth it?

Not at all. People on message boards were *****ing about Leyland, but Leyland is held in pretty high regard. The only people who get booed in Detroit now is anyone to do with the Lions. Hell they even started the fire Millen chant at the Tiger game //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Nobody gets a pay cut from the organization. That was a total slap in the face. The Yankees didn't want him back so they low ball him to make him look bad to the simple fan like yourself.
when did i say he looked bad? i thought it was sweet on his part...let them debate over it for a few days and then tell them to shove it....ive got a hell of a lot more respect for him now.....

now the truth of the matter is that if you really want to get down to it a monkey could of gotten to the playoffs for 12 straight years managing a team with that kind of endless pocket and talent. from all the interviews it sounds like all the players are losing their best friend not their boss....joe torre just got paid to make friends with some of the best baseball players of all time...good deal.

LMFAO if you say so. We'll see next year how good Torre was or wasn't.

In the late 90's, the Yankees didn't have superstars. They had guys like Brosious, O'neal, Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez, Orlando Hernandez, David Cone, David Wells etc. Not exactly superstars.

so are you saying because the whole team didnt it makes it "ok"?this guy gets paid $$$ and wants more $$$$ he chokes that is money waisted
lets not forget that the yankees made it to the playoffs this year by the skin of their teeth....if it wasnt for his amazing play during the regular season they wouldnt of even been close...

the fact is hes going to go down as the greatest player of all time....hes been healthy his entire career so chances are hes going to stay healthy.

yet another reason why any team that can afford him is going to because as long as he isnt proven to be taking roids hes going to have a michael jordan like following once he starts getting close to smashing the HR record and the all time hits record..any team hes with when that happens is going to be in the national spotlight night in night out....

come on dolan, squeeze ur hand in that pocket!!! lol jk
