**The MLB Thread**

They just signed Hafner to a 4 year extension, and Sizemore is under their control through 2010. Teams get their money through TV contracts. Cleveland is not a big enough market to get the big TV contracts. Cleveland could not afford to give Manny Ramirez 8 years and 160 million. They offered Manny 15 million per. Albert Belle was the same deal. Jim Thome was a different situation because the team was rebuilding. The Indians won 6 division championships in 7 years. They had their run, and then rebuilt and are back. I cannot believe you are *****ing about the Indians management.
im not really complaining about management now...just then.....the only gripe i have now is that it is a little heartbreaking when you hear a year in advance you have no chance at resigning your ace unless he really wants to stay...the least you can do is blow smoke up our ***** and make us think we are going to keep him!!! lol especially when we went to the 2 world series and all we heard from management is that we know we need pitching and we will address that in the offseason and nothing was done about it........thats all... other than that i have to say until last season when you started to see the pieces really coming together i had no faith in the rebuilding...

thome i dont blame one bit for leaving us..in fact when i went to the white sox game this season when everyone else was booing him i stood and cheered him (except for when bases were loaded in the ninth when he was up, then i booed!!) who wants to stay on a team that has no chance of winning until you are out of ur prime? i understood that completely.

ill give it to dolan though, it sure was a smart move to get on the 11 o'clock news and say that now when everyone is hyped and happy about the indians...so i really dont think anyone noticed it even happened!

if its not the Red Sox...it will be the Rockies

but I think that the BoSox will turn it around
Well you have to win 2 in a row, 1 in Cleveland and then 1 at home to knot it all up. So is a lot harder for Boston and Cleveland knows that, but we want to do it at home and not give them the chance back at Boston. Plus it is always sweeter to do it at home.

Hey, by the way have the Mets made any recent transactions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i dont know.....8 day layoff for the rockies may hurt them.....as long as cleveland doesnt fall completely apart i cant see the bosox coming back...if not beckett tomorrow i like our chances against schilling and dice k again....

and who knows just how bad becketts back is hurting him after game 1...theyve been pretty tight lipped about it.

i dont know which is better... going into the world series with a 21of 22 streak or confidence of knowing you just knocked off the yankees and the redsox.....

GO TRIBE!!!!

Valid points!

When it comes down to it, both clubs in the Indians and Rockies will make for an interesting series. I think it will go the whole 7 games. The line up the Rockies have is as good as the Yankees and have done well all through out the playoffs unlike the Yanks. Then their pitching has come alive with some very young guys. So there comes my conclussion is their inexperience with starting people like Ulbado Jimenez and Franklin Morales. Yes they have looked good against the Diamondbacks who have one if not the worst offensive teams. Then when they played the Cubs a couple times the pitchers looked to struggle, but found a way to come back because their line up is something else. I know we have a better pitching rotation than either the Cubs or the Diamondbacks and our line up is also just as good as the Cubs if not better. So if the Rocks do win the WS, they will have deffintley earned it beating either us or Boston, which both clubs are many moons better than either the Backs or the Cubs IMO.

I remember a team winning 7 playoff games in a row and having a huge layoff before the World Series. I would name the team but it may anger Randy Savage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
